About Octopus EV
Octopus EV (Octopus Electric Vehicles) is the salary sacrifice arm of the Octopus Energy Group, the renewable energy company. Employees lease a new or nearly-new electric car through their gross salary, saving income tax and National Insurance, and because the cost is met entirely through salary sacrifice the scheme is free for employers to run.
What sets Octopus apart is the integration with its wider energy ecosystem: a free Ohme home charger and installation, access to the Electroverse public charging network, and a choice of 4,000 free charging miles or the home charger. The group's renewable credentials (Octopus Energy is a certified B Corp) make it a natural fit for employers with sustainability goals.
More than 7,000 UK businesses have signed up, and the scheme powers embedded, white-label salary sacrifice for large institutions as well as SMEs.

Who it's for
Pricing approach
Free for the employer to set up and run. The cost is met by the employee through salary sacrifice, and the employer can save on National Insurance.
The monthly cost to the employee depends on the vehicle, term and mileage, offset by income tax and National Insurance savings via the low EV benefit-in-kind rate.
